St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Primary School building has been extended from a Grade II listed former convent and chapel to a spacious and well-resourced Primary School over the last 150 years. The school now comprises five fully-equipped classrooms plus a dedicated classroom for Computing, a well-stocked library, a dedicated music room and a room to support additional needs known as ‘Nessy Hub.’ The large multi-purpose School Hall is used for School Assemblies, Collective Worship and musical and drama productions. At lunchtime the space is used as a dining hall and contains an onsite kitchen. It is also used for Dance and is equipped for Gymnastics.
The Computer Suite houses a class set of new PCs on a school network of classroom computers and children also use a mobile trolley containing a class set of laptops. All classrooms have new interactive boards and the School Hall is equipped with Audio Visual equipment. The children also access a growing number of iPads to support their learning. The school has a beautiful outside space incorporating a large playground, an extensive playing field, a dedicated wildlife area and growing areas.
