Our school value of ‘Solidarity’ is lived, not laminated. As children, staff, parents, Friends of St Catharine’s, Governors and parishioners, we support each other in the joys, hopes and challenges of life.
Each year we support a variety of charities. These have previously included Shelter (for the homeless), World Book Day (UNESCO), Pink Day (Breast Cancer Research), Royal British Legion (Veterans), CAFOD (Overseas Development) and NSPCC (supporting children) and more.
The Pupil Chaplaincy Team take the lead on our ‘Foodbank Friday’ initiative to assist the local community. Contributions are placed in our trolley, and are taken to Chipping Campden Baptist Church for distribution. Each Christmas we carry out a ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’ to provide hampers of Christmas meals for those in the North Cotswolds community, including our own families.
Other fundraising is responsive to the world around us and the issues that matter to the children. Recent examples include pupil-driven projects raising funds for Australian Red Cross, St Mungo’s shelter for the homeless, COVID vaccination development.
We live, work and play in community, as an essential expression of who we are.
