School Meals, Snacks and Drinks
We have a very successful and popular hot school meals service, with the meals cooked in our own kitchen and served in the school dining hall. On average about 90 children (70%) enjoy a hot school meal with the rest bringing packed lunch. Seasonal variations are made and occasionally small changes due to ingredient availability. The current price of a school meal is £2.28.
If pupils choose to have a packed lunch we encourage them to bring healthy options in their lunch box and do not allow fizzy drinks in school. All pupils eat their lunch, whether packed or a cooked school dinner, in their respective year groups over a first or second sitting system in the school hall.
Snacks and Drinks
The school promotes a healthy eating policy and is supplied daily with fresh fruit which is free to all Key Stage 1 pupils. The selection includes apples, bananas, satsumas, pears carrots, tomatoes, cucumber and seasonal fruits such as strawberries. Cartons of fresh milk are available to all pupils. It is free to children under five years of age and offered at a subsidised price to children age six upwards.
Key Stage 2 pupils are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for their mid-morning break. Crisps, biscuits and sweets are not permitted for morning break but may form part of packed lunch.
