St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Primary School building has been extended from a Grade II listed former convent and chapel to a spacious and well-resourced Primary School over the last 150 years. The school now comprises five fully-equipped classrooms, a well-stocked library, a dedicated music room, an updated room to support additional needs and a group study room for all ages.
The large multi-purpose School Hall is used for Collective Worship and musical and drama productions. It is also used for Dance and PE lessons.
At lunchtime the hall is used as a dining hall and lunches are freshly prepared in our onsite kitchen.
Computing is facilitated by mobile trolleys of iPads. These are used throughout the school and across the curriculum. All classrooms have interactive boards, staff members have iPads and the School Hall is equipped with an interactive board and audio equipment.
The school has a beautiful outside space. It incorporates a large playground, an extensive playing field, a dedicated wildlife area and zone for Forest School. EYFS also have access to their own contained outdoor classroom, which is used throughout the year and across the curriculum.
Pupils requested updated toileting facilities in their ‘Pupil Voice’ surveys. This work was completed over Summer 2022 to the delight of the children.
