Our school buildings and grounds
Over the last 150 years, St Catharine’s has grown from a Grade II listed former convent and chapel into a spacious, well-resourced primary school, where history and modern learning sit side by side.
Inside our school
Classrooms
Five fully equipped classrooms, each with an interactive board.
Library
A well-stocked library to inspire a love of reading.
Music room
A dedicated space for music lessons and practice.
Support room
An updated room to support children with additional needs.
Group study room
A flexible space for small-group learning, used by all ages.
School hall
A large multi-purpose hall for Collective Worship, music and drama productions, dance and PE, with an interactive board and sound system.
Dining and kitchen
At lunchtime the hall becomes our dining hall, with lunches freshly prepared in our own kitchen.
Technology
Mobile trolleys of iPads are used across the school and the curriculum. Staff each have an iPad.
Outside
Our school has a beautiful outdoor space, used throughout the year and across the curriculum.
Playground
A large playground for play and games.
Playing field
An extensive field for PE, sport and Sports Day.
Wildlife area
A dedicated space to explore and learn about nature.
Forest School
Our own Forest School zone for outdoor learning.
EYFS outdoor classroom
A secure outdoor classroom just for our youngest children.
Listening to our pupils
We listen to what our children tell us about their school. For example, when pupils asked for updated toilets in our Pupil Voice surveys, we refurbished them, to the children’s delight!
