School Meals, Snacks and Drinks
We are proud of our popular hot school meals service. Meals are freshly cooked in our own kitchen and served in the school hall. Menus change with the seasons, and small changes are occasionally made depending on ingredient availability.

Packed Lunches
If your child brings a packed lunch, we encourage healthy choices in their lunch box. Fizzy drinks are not allowed in school. All children, whether they have a packed lunch or a school dinner, eat together in the school hall in year-group sittings.
Snacks and Drinks
We promote healthy eating throughout the school day. Children in Reception and Key Stage 1 receive a free piece of fresh fruit or vegetable each day, such as apples, bananas, satsumas, pears, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber and seasonal treats like strawberries.
Children bring in a healthy snack from Monday to Thursday, with an optional treat snack on Fridays.
Cartons of fresh milk are available to all pupils. Milk is free for children under five and is offered at a subsidised price for children aged five and over.
⚠ Allergy Awareness – Nut-Free School
To keep all of our children safe, St Catharine’s is a nut-free school. Please do not send any food containing nuts or nut ingredients into school, whether in lunch boxes, snacks or for special events.
This includes:
- Peanuts
- Almonds, cashews, walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios and all other tree nuts
- Nut butters, spreads and bars (e.g. peanut butter, Nutella)
Even very small traces of nuts can cause a serious allergic reaction. We kindly ask all families to check food labels carefully before sending anything into school. Thank you for your support.
