Governors set the aims and objectives for the school and set the policies and targets for achieving those aims and objectives.

The full governing board meets six times a year to monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making and act as a source of challenge and support to the headteacher.

Two main umbrella committees, sit under the full governing board and their terms of reference are outlined below.

Management and Administration Committee covers :-

Finance, Facilities, Health and Safety, Staff Pay and School’s Resources Management

Teaching and Learning Committee covers :-

Religious Education, Special Educational needs and Disabilities, Safeguarding, EYFS, Governor visits and The School Website.

Other committees meet throughout the year as necessary and these are :-

Strategic Planning, Admissions and Pay Review.

Associate members are appointed by the governing body to serve on one or more governing body committee. They may also attend full governing body meetings. and therefore don’t have a vote in decisions made during full Board meetings.  However, they do have voting rights on sub-committees.  They are appointed because of specific expertise and experience they can contribute to the effective governance and success of the school.
