Music and instrumental lessons
Music is a big part of life at St Catharine’s. Every child sings and plays in class, and many go on to learn an instrument with our visiting specialist teachers. Learning an instrument builds confidence, concentration and teamwork, and it’s great fun too!
Music for every child
In class
Children learn to sing and play the glockenspiel through the Charanga music scheme and the DfE’s Model Music Curriculum.
Whole-class brass
Each year, a different Key Stage 2 class learns brass together with Andy Farrington, funded by the Chipping Campden Music Festival. Children can then carry on in small brass groups.
Singing assemblies
Weekly specialist singing assemblies are led by professionals, including Richard Norris from Longborough Festival Opera.
