Instrument Lessons
In KS2, children have the opportunity to take up a musical instrument. Tuition is currently available for flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, guitar, cello, violin and viola by peripatetic teachers who visit the school weekly. All pupils are taught on a rota basis. This involves missing part of normal school lessons although care is taken to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
Performance opportunities are encouraged and enjoyed by the whole school through musical demonstrations during assembly and short concerts. Instrument hire is available at reasonable rates through the Gloucestershire County Music Service. Tuition fees are chargeable and are arranged directly with the individual peripatetic teachers.
